ootd: oxblood and black

Hello, hi!

I hardly post an outfit of the day the same day as I'm wearing it. I don't know why, it just feels weird. lol.. I guess today is special :) I took the pictures straight after a launch I attended at Hemingways Hotel's @ The Venue. The place is just opposite our studios. I've said it numerous times that being a journalist doesn't require me to dress formal. Most days I wear flats, but today I decided to wear my current favourite heels. A pair of studded courts from Foschini.

textured black peplum is from here, ox blood red/ maroon pants are from Legit, Black studded court shoes are from Foschini. Bag from Becker Boutique, gold neckpiece also from Foschini

What would my post be without a selfie? nothing! lol...I don't wear any eye make up because I wear prescription contact lenses. Eyeliner and mascara always stains the lenses leaving a cloud-like residue. I realized that after throwing away a lot of lenses that got stained to a point of no repair :( sad sad sad! So I can't wear eyeshadows without eyeliner, that would look weird. I have on my favourite foundation. The dream matte mousse and one my many Ralo Lippis. I use a black Opal brown eyeliner on my brows. Maybelline fit me in Cafe Cafe 30 concealer for 'cleaning'.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Ciao

OOTD: South African Autumn

Yes! This was taken in the middle of autumn! right, that cold season before freezing winter. But, not here baby, it's not cold at all. This is an outfit I wore last week Friday. The pics were taken in a smaller town close to East London called King Williams Town. Believe it or not this is actually an office park :)

black pleated pleather skater skirt is from here. I've worn all the other stuff before :)

This is an outfit I wore on Wednesday. It's comfortable and just basic, which is how I dress for work. Thank  God I don't have to dress formal and stuff lol!

I took a short left!

I won't even talk bout my long absence. I'm a really bad blogger, I know. But please allow me to gloat about the awesome time I had last weekend. On Friday I packed up and went to visit a friend in Durban. The weather was terrible in East London, heavy rains and strong winds, and the predictions weren't looking good for Durban and the south coast areas either. Wasn't sure what to and not to pack. As I result I brought a whole bunch of things I never got to wear. The plan was to arrive in Durban early on Friday chill a bit then drive to the breathtaking San Lameer, a golf estate resort before sunset. But the weather would just not allow :( We drove down on Saturday. It wasn't sunny but better than Friday. Honestly I just didn't wanna go anymore, what the point of going to such a beautiful place in such crappy weather? Luckily the weather cleared up on Sunday, sunny without a single cloud in the sky. We drove around the estate in a golf cart, just admiring the beauty of the place. Apart from the lagoon there are plenty of private beaches. I didn't take any pics in my bikini though. lol...From San Lameer we drove to Sun Coast sun for the awesomest river cruise, drinks, lunch and dinner. Here are some of the pics I took.

View from my room at San Lameer Mondazur hotel and spar(this was taken when it was raining on Saturday)

Then Viola! The sun came out

Me cheesing :)

Moral of the story? We all dream of Mauritius and all but there are gorgeous places in South Africa to explore. Start here. Take a short left.
