Hi :)

This is an outfit I wore this past weekend on Saturday. I love these shorts to bits. I got them from a thrift store in town about a month or two back. The way they are cut is just amazing. They are kind of loose in the thigh area, then the waist is nicely cinched! This is such a relief because I always struggle when buying non stretch pants, they never fit me perfectly on the bum as well as the waist. if the bum is fine then there's a big gap on the waist and vice versa. Story of my life! and I know a lot of ladies know exactly what I'm talking about. Unfortunately I didn't take a full pic of the outfit on and the mirror pics I took are not clear enough. It got a bit chilly so I wore black tights under the shorts.

Plain white T from Mr Price, high waist denim shorts: Thrift(vintage Woolies) black wedge shoes: Inwear at Truworths; biker jacket: bought a long time ago at a store down town; Cat eye sunnies: Woolies; Minx watch; stud bracelets from Mr Price; The Body Shop Dreams Unlimited Eu De Parfum

just to give you an idea of how the shorts look on. Too the pic but a week ago, just trying them on

lastly, some selfies. I have on L'Oreal infallible foundation in cocoa, Rimmel London lipstick in Have Fun 050

Ciao hunnies!

OOTD: Summer colours in winter!

I must admit I don't follow any rules when it comes to what I wear. It's winter, by unwritten fashion rules, all my bright colours should be chucked away. Making way for burgundies, maroons, browns and blacks, but no, not me cousin. The warm weather is also the reason why I don't pile on the dark colours. This is an outfit I wore some time last week.

Ciao

late post!

Forgot to post this look! I did a polyvore edit on it but of coarse mine is affordable for me! If we follow each other on Instagram you've probably seen these pics already, askies(sorry)! :)

got these from Jet. When I say I'm a bargain hunter you best believe  lol

mastered pants from Woolworths, white shirt from Mr. P, Black blazer from Foschini

I've had this neckpice for 5 years now, yes FIVE years going strong! got it from Mr Price

short hair don't care!

Hey you!

Last week I took off the 18 inch hair extensions I had for the past two months. This amid the chaos of moving into a new flat. That left me dead tired and broke. I had to run to my emergency savings(which aren't thaaat big a sum) to cover the deposits and moving cost because I hadn't planned to move this month. But an opportunity to move into a unit where I'll be the first occupant, affordable and close to most amenities was one I wasn't gonna miss. Needless to say, I'm so happy I braved out and moved. Surprisingly I didn't have any qualms about leaving the beach community I've been living in for a very long time.  In the middle of the whole moving process I took sometime out to fix up my hair. I took out the extensions, washed and treated my relaxed hair which hasn't been relaxed for four months now. The untouched roots are insanely kinked up lol. I'm not sure what I'll do with it though, relax or chop off and go natural again? I don't know. For now this pixie cut weave will do! If you've read diary of a Zulu Girl you will know that this hairdo is a big no-no in the big cities and cool crowds luckily I'm not part of either! lol. My sis took these snaps of me on Sunday :)

Till next time :*

How Bomb!!

OH how can I forget baby!!! Posted this on my twitter/bbm/instagram/facebook all over the show, but my blog! Can you believe me?! lol. I was featured on one of my favorite fashion blogs The Fashion Bomb Daily  on Saturday as the Fashion Bombshell of the day. My friend Eric submitted the pics, I'd never put myself on the spot like that, no never not me :D.  Must say when he first shared Claire's tweet about the bombshell Zona from SA I wanted to strangle him! How could he, I mean all I see on that site is designer wear, perfectly done makeup, crisp photos the works ! how could I ever match that with my iPhone pics? hehehe but anyways excitement kicked in and fears vamoosed! I'm the second SA based babe to featured there so I'm chuffed. Bet if you follow my blog you will know that the pics used are oldish, but I guess Eric and Claire picked their faves so we can't argue with the greats lol :) From the experience Here a link (here)and a screenshot.

OOTD: South African Autumn

Yes! This was taken in the middle of autumn! right, that cold season before freezing winter. But, not here baby, it's not cold at all. This is an outfit I wore last week Friday. The pics were taken in a smaller town close to East London called King Williams Town. Believe it or not this is actually an office park :)

Hello, Hi! This is an outfit I wore last week Friday. I was in a very good morning, as expected, Friday is the best day of the week! lol...So far I'm enjoying my purple braids, but I'm boring because I always wear it in a bun. Love my bun :). Excuse my ever so boring background! it's the backdoor at my office, I snick a pic during lunch time.

OOTD: 22/02/2013

Happy Monday everyone. Trust that you had a lovely weekend! Mine was wonderful. We celebrated one of my aunt's 50th birthday. I find it cool that she just 50 and I'll be turning 25 on Thursday! :)

I wore the outfit below on Friday last week. I was working in Bhisho, during the State of the Province Address for the Eastern Cape. Members of parliament are known for dressing up for the do. Because I'm just a commoner (lol) and I was on duty, I couldn't do as they do. I wore this black maxi dress from Legit. I like it.

OOTD: 20/02/2013

Hope everyone's having a good day. Mine is so-so, but I just smile and wave. Woke up to a very gloomy day, just cloudy and glum. I guess it goes with the mood in South Africa right now. A lot of people are reeling from shock from the Reeva Steenkamp and Oscar Pistorious tragedy. There's debate about it all over social networks, and it's splashed in all newspapers. If you don't know the story, Pistorious is a double amputee, who defied the odds and became a paralympic gold medalist. The late Reeva Steenkamp was a model and law graduate. The two were an item. Reeva was found dead at Oscar's house on Valentine's day and Oscar has been charged for the murder. For more information on the story go to my work website, AlgoaFM news. Yes most of us don't know them personally, but it's really sad that two, beautiful, talented young people have fallen so had. All we can do is wait for justice to prevail. RIP to Reeva.

Didn't mean to make you feel blue, but the journalist in me just wouldn't shut up.

On a lighter note, here's my outfit today.

ootd/10/02/2013

Happy Monday my people! I had a lovely, chilled weekend. On Saturday I did some spring cleaning and laundry. I love a clean living space and the actual cleaning process is therapeutic. Then  yesterday I went to a Chesa Nyama(braai/barbecue) with a friend. I wore this tribal print dress and my favourite sandals. I've noticed this is my 3rd post in a row wearing these David Tlale(Legit range) babies! geez I'm embarrassed  but I just love them to bits. They go with any and everything. I've been without hair extension for the past 3 weeks. I  must say I'm enjoying washing my hair whenever I want to as opposed to when I have a weave on. lol..

John Lennon inspired sunglasses: Mr. Price; Don't you just like my Donald Trump comb over?lol

Tribal print dress: Jet, black sanadals: Legit an d red bag: Edgars

outfit of the day

I haven't been inspired to do an 'outfit of the day' in a while. I take most of my photos with my phone, so the quality is not so great. Because of this I'm not so excited about posting anymore. I've been working on getting a good quality DSLR with not much success. Hopefully before June I will succeed. In the mean time here's an OOTD from a few weeks back. Finally wore this peplum top I got from Fashion Express in October. It's summer here, so I later changed the pants for shorts because of the heat.

Top: Fashion Express, Pants and Neckpiece: Mr Price, studded sandals: Legit

excuse the awkward pose and even worse picture quality lol.  The shorts are also from Fashion Express

I'm still alive!

Yes I'm still here. Apologies for the lack of posts. During Christmas holidays I focus all my attention on my family. Because for the most part of the year, I never get enough time to spend with them.

So this here is "Happy New Year" from me. Trusting that you had wonderful festive season. May the Lord give you strength to keep working hard to archive your goals!

Ralo Summer Makeup colours!

Since last year I've been ranting and raving about how cool Ralo Cosmetics makeup is. Judging from their latest colour range, I won't stop raving any time soon. The lovely ladies at the beauty chains head office in Cape Town sent me gorgeous colours to work with this summer! Boy am I loving them.

In summer I'm always a little sceptical of wearing make up as it can easily melt and look a hot mess. But considering that I don't want to take time off beauty, I've picked up a few tips on how to put on light weight, melt-proof make up.

1. Go easy on the foundation: there are BB creams out in the market, they are a great light weight alternative. Or like me you can just mix your favourite face moisturizer and with a tiny bit of your foundation.
2. Try out bright colours! on your lips or eyes, but not both...if the eyes are bold then go easy on the lips and vice versa.
3. Glow but don't shine. A light weight powder and  a hint of bronzer will give a lovely glow.

What are your summer make up tips??

lime blouse: Popstars, floral skater skirt; Mr Price, black studded sandals: David Tlale at Legit

My beautiful colleague Melody let me do her make up too! It was a bit challenging because Melo never wears it, so I didn't do something too shocking for her. With her flawless skin I didn't even use foundation on her. I just did the eyes, lips and chicks. Isn't she stunning!
